Message But yeah, it is very misleading when people mention the "100 octane" over there for just the reasons you stated. That's mostly why I didn't actually mention a specific octane number since I didn't know the math on how it turned out based on our scale.

Even if someone is used to running their car in a Sunoco 94 octane environment, I still think there are other issues with running the Japanese PowerFC. However, I'm not sure exactly what they are. If it was just the octane being a few points off, I'd think the guys down at Apex/XS would have been done a lot quicker. Hopefully Sponge can chime in.
